Domestic Violence takes many forms.

Those who experience domestic violence are usually women; those who cause it are usually, but not always, male partners.

The abuse may involve physical attacks, sexual assault and threats of violence, or may take other more subtle forms such as being locked in, being humiliated in public, or being kept short of money. Often children are hurt.

Domestic Violence affects many women and children regardless of age, class or culture.

Remember that you are not alone and it is not your fault.

We can help you. You do not need to leave home or go to a refuge (safe house) to get help from us. Women and children and young people can get advice and support from our helpline; our advice and support services; or our children's services. All our services are confidential.

EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO LEAD THEIR LIFE FREE OF VIOLENCE, FEAR AND ABUSE.
